Saturday morning in downtown Missoula means market day. From May through October, three markets set up within a few blocks of each other, and two of them carry on indoors through the winter.

Here is when and where each one runs, what is still open in October, and how to get there without fighting for parking.

What is running right now (mid-October 2026)

The black line marks today. Bars show the months each market runs, not every date. Checked October 2026 against each market's own site; the Missoula Farmers Market and Winter Market dates come from KPAX and Abundant Montana.

Missoula's Farmers Market

Missoula's Farmers Market is in its 54th season. It sets up in Circle Square at the north end of Higgins Avenue. Its manager describes it as "very, very local," and non-food vendors have to use materials harvested in western Montana.

The Saturday market runs 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from the first Saturday in May through the end of October. A smaller Tuesday evening market runs 5 to 7 p.m. from June through September. The market's own website still shows an older season, so the 2026 hours here come from the market's season-opening announcement as reported by KPAX. Go early for the best selection; popular stalls sell out.

Clark Fork Market

The Clark Fork Market is the year-round option. From May through October it sets up outdoors near the river at 225 S. Pattee St., close to Caras Park and the carousel. Vendors sell vegetables and fruit, meat, fish, honey and plant starts, plus bread, pastries, kombucha, ferments, jam, wool goods and flowers.

Hours depend on the season:

From November through April the market moves indoors to 208 Ryman St., next to the Badlander downtown. So in October you will find it outside by the river from 9 a.m., and from November on you will find it indoors at the same hours.

The Clark Fork Market asks people not to bring dogs or other pets. Service dogs are welcome.

Missoula People's Market

The Missoula People's Market sets up on Pine Street between Higgins Avenue and Ryman Street every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 2026 season ran May 2 through Sept. 26, so it is finished for the year. Look for it again next May.

Winter markets

Two markets keep going through the cold months:

Getting there and parking

The three summer markets are all downtown, within a few blocks of each other, so it is easy to walk from one to the next.

Saturday parking downtown is free. City street meters, lots and garages do not charge on weekends. That also means spaces near the markets fill fast, so come early or come another way.

Mountain Line runs a Market Trolley on Saturdays from May through October, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It loops every half hour between the downtown markets and the Fairgrounds. The regular buses are zero-fare too, and Route 6 serves Higgins Avenue from the Downtown Transfer Center.

The riverfront trails also bring you right to the Clark Fork Market on foot or by bike.
