All Nations Health Center is a Native-led, urban Indian health organization that blends modern medicine with Indigenous knowledge to support the whole person: body, mind, spirit, and community. It offers medical, dental, behavioral health, and community wellness services that are grounded in cultural understanding and trauma-informed care. Although its mission prioritizes American Indian and Alaska Native relatives, All Nations welcomes individuals from all backgrounds who seek care in an environment that is respectful, inclusive, and community oriented.

Roots and Vision

All Nations began in 1970 as Qua-Qui, a gathering place for Native people who had left their home reservations for higher education or employment and needed a connection to community and culture. Over the decades it evolved into a formal Urban Indian Health Program under the Indian Health Service. It is now a nonprofit health center guided by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the Native community.

Today, All Nations envisions a Missoula where Native families are healthy, engaged, and supported by strong partnerships across tribal, federal, state, and local systems. This vision includes trauma-informed care, culturally grounded wellness practices, and a coordinated approach to addressing material, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Indigenous-Led Medical Care

All Nations operates a comprehensive medical clinic at 830 West Central Avenue in Missoula, offering care from infancy through elderhood. Services follow the standards of the Indian Health Service while honoring Indigenous worldviews and cultural respect in every appointment.

Patients can access:
• Annual wellness exams
• Acute and chronic disease care
• Diabetes management
• Family planning and pregnancy testing
• Sports physicals and school physicals
• Immunizations for all ages
• Women’s health services and OB-GYN referrals
• Newborn care and routine well-child visits

The medical team also performs limited procedures, including suturing, wound care, biopsies, lesion removal, and cryotherapy. The in-house laboratory provides fasting labs, diabetes screenings, point-of-care testing, and STD and HIV testing.

Care Across the Lifespan

All Nations works to ensure that every stage of life is supported. Infants receive early newborn care and developmental support. Children and teens receive preventive care, screenings, and immunizations that help them stay healthy and engaged in school and activities.

Adults receive help managing chronic conditions and staying up to date with preventive health care. Elders receive support that acknowledges the importance of aging with dignity, cultural continuity, and trusted relationships with their care team.

Behavioral Health with Cultural Roots

Behavioral health services at All Nations are confidential, culturally centered, and trauma informed. The Behavioral Health Department supports individuals, couples, families, and groups who want help navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, identity concerns, family transitions, and the systemic pressures that can shape urban Native life.

Services include:
• Mental health assessments
• Individual counseling
• Group counseling
• Couples and family therapy
• Integrated mental health and chemical dependency care
• Tobacco cessation and youth prevention programs

Traditional healing practices are incorporated when possible, including sweat lodges, smudging, and cultural gatherings that reinforce identity and community strength. Students pursuing advanced training in counseling, social work, and psychology can also complete supervised practica at All Nations, helping grow the next generation of Indigenous-focused behavioral health providers.

A Fully Integrated Approach to Wellness

All Nations uses an integrated care model where medical, dental, and behavioral health teams work together so patients receive coordinated, whole-person care. This structure helps clients address complex health needs without navigating disconnected systems. It also improves chronic disease management, reduces gaps in care, and strengthens long-term wellness.

Dental Care for All Ages

The dental clinic at 2100 Stephens Avenue provides preventive and restorative care for children and adults. Services include exams, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, fillings, extractions, and referrals for dentures. The dental team emphasizes education and prevention, recognizing the link between oral health and overall well-being.

Community Wellness and Cultural Connection

Beyond the clinic, All Nations offers extensive community prevention and health promotion programs that blend Indigenous culture with evidence-based public health strategies. These programs strengthen physical health, cultural identity, and social connection.

Offerings include:
• Elders luncheons
• Tribal language activities
• Smudge kits and traditional healing opportunities
• Traditional food preparation classes
• Diabetes prevention classes
• Native Youth Council
• Afterschool programs and youth leadership development
• Substance use prevention programs
• Traditional games and culturally rooted physical activity

These programs affirm that wellness is not limited to clinical care. It emerges from culture, family, community, and a sense of belonging.

Support Beyond Health Services

All Nations offers help with insurance eligibility, Medicaid enrollment, SNAP applications, and other benefits. Transportation is available for medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments within Missoula and for visits to the nearest IHS facility in St. Ignatius or Arlee.

This added support helps reduce barriers and ensures individuals can follow through with the care they need.
